A story so classic, it deserves to be retold over and over again. From a segment of the History Channel's Shockwave program, Sgt. Steven Tschiderer tells his tale once again of being hit by an Iraqi sniper. The sniper is later caught after Tschiderer's buddies take out his vehicle with a Humvee mounted .50 cal and a video of the attack was recovered. No doubt the video would have been used to claim a US soldier had been killed.

Why tell the story again? Because it's awesome, that's why! Plus, this particular version of the story has the highest production value, including much more background and visuals to help the viewer get a feel for the layout of the neighborhood it happened in.

Next Juba the Baghdad Sniper Film Delayed. Indefinitely.

UR, Iraq – Iraqi Security Forces thwarted an attack on a U.S. military patrol in northeast Baghdad Jan. 17.

Elements of the 1st National Police Division, and 42nd Brigade, 11th Iraqi Army Division, worked together to detain a suspected sniper team that was targeting an American forces on patrol in the Haay Ur neighborhood of northeast Baghdad.

“The actions of our ISF partners saved at least one, and probably several, U.S. Soldiers lives,” said Col. John Hort, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division, Multi-National Division – Baghdad commander. “It’s events like these that show me that our 15 months in Iraq have not been in vain. The Iraqi Security Forces in northeast Baghdad are a well-trained, well-led force that will no doubt serve to increase the security of the good Iraqi people of this region.”

Three men were arrested during the event. Items confiscated included a van that was being used to move the team around as well as a base of operations from which to conduct the attack, a video camera, a modified sniper rifle, a canvas concealment device and a wooden stand used as a support inside the vehicle.

All items and men were taken into Iraqi National Police custody, where they currently reside pending further investigation.

"Google's community guidelines for YouTube will now bar videos that incite violence, in addition to videos that contain hate speech and gratuitous violence," Sen. Joe Lieberman said in Washington on Thursday.

"YouTube was being used by Islamist terrorist organizations to recruit and train followers via the Internet and to incite terrorist attacks around the world, including right here in the United States, and Google should be commended for recognizing that," he said. "I expect these stronger community guidelines to decrease the number of videos on YouTube produced by Al Qaeda and affiliated Islamist terrorist organizations."

Sounds wonderful doesn't it? But....

At the time, Google said it had taken down about 80 clips that featured gratuitous violence and hate speech, but added that "there's nothing in our guidelines that says something produced by a certain group gets censored."

Which in real terms means that so long as al-Qaeda supporters are careful they can still spread their propaganda. This seems like a similar dance youtube played with Mr. Lieberman recently. Complaint followed by the minimum amount of action by Youtube. There are still plenty of clips out there produced by specially designated terrorist entities in support of al-Qaeda and Jihad.

But in the last few days it seems Youtube has removed some of the most flagrant and famous pro al-Qaeda videos and accounts. Removing Jihad Jane is high profile. But Jane never uploaded any videos. She just favorited them. So removing her actually hurts a bit, she was good source for finding the users uploading the propaganda.

So lets test out Youtube's resolve on this issue.

I just wanted to state that flagging a few videos is not going to stop them from ending up on youtube.

It amazes me that videos showing illegal US aggression are considered fine, while posting material advocating lawful self-defense gets people all worked up.

Do as you will, it makes no difference to me. I will post more videos under different account names if need be. I support the Islamic Army in Iraqi, Ansar al-Sunnah, Hamas, and a whole lot of other people you don't like too much.

He lists three terrorist organizations he wishes to support on a US company's servers. Hamas is designated a terrorist organization by the US dept of state. He intends to use Youtube to support them, by law he should be suspended from using a US based platform to do so.

Moving on. One of our smackdown partners keeps a playlist of current terrorist propaganda here. A couple contain very graphic violence, including be-headings.

Yet another reporter stakes out Charlotte's most famous jihad supporter, Samir Khan--aka, inshallahshaheed [God willing, a martyr]. You'll notice that when asked whether he is helping recruit for terror or al Qaeda he answers the question: No.

Which of course, is probably true. Encouraging readers to join the mujahideen and then constantly praising al Qaeda isn't the same thing as actually working with al Qaeda directly. I encourage people to join the U.S. military, but I don't get a paycheck. Indirectly? Well, that's another matter altogether.

As a reminder on what he's all about, the pic above from his "About Us" page shows one of the dozens of "scholars" he claims people can learn from. Yes, that's al Qaeda's former #1 in Iraq, Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, infamous for the dozens of civilian hostages he beheaded on film.

If our country had any balls, of course, we'd level charges of sedition or aiding and abetting the enemy. But we don't. Our lawyerly class has long since forgotten the fate of Nazi supporters in America during WWII.

I wonder, had the reporter asked whether or not Samir was recruiting for the Shabaab terrorists in Somalia if he would answer the same way?

Indonesian "Moderate" Muslim Groups Ready to Force Islamic Terrorists to Disband

I called this happening and I have marched in demonstrations against FPI (Islamic Defender's Front). It is great to see "moderate" Muslim groups finally taking action where the inept government fails to do so. I would also like to see the generals and politicians exposed and charged for giving orders to these thugs to harm innocent civilians and for protecting them.

Dissatisfied with the government's reaction to violence by the Islamic Defenders Front (FPI), an alliance of religious organizations in Jember regency, East Java, is preparing a special force to launch a strike at the hard-line group.

The alliance is affiliated with Nahdlatul Ulama (NU), Indonesia's largest Muslim organization, and the National Awakening Party (PKB).

The force will be divided into 300-member groups to undergo special training in self-defense and the use of knives, machetes and other traditional cutting tools in a training field in Sucopengetok village, 25 kilometers from Jember.

A large number of self-defense instructors were coming down from mountainous areas in the regency to train the combatants recruited from Garda Bangsa, Batuan Serbaguna, Anshor and a number of Islamic pesantren (boarding schools) in the regency, Ayub Junaidi, coordinator of the force and secretary of the Jember branch of the PKB told The Jakarta Post here Saturday.

"If the FPI is not disbanded, the special force will leave for Jakarta to do it," Ayub said.

Ayub said the training would be conducted in groups and would be completed within several months.

"All participants will be trained physically and mentally so they will be able to endure the worst situations."

He said the special militia was not being reestablished to create public unrest but to put an end to that created by the FPI and its affiliated organizations.

"Ten thousand militants are ready to march in Jakarta if the government does not impose a ban on the Islamic Defenders Front," said Ayub Junaidi, the coodinator of the militia group, Pasukan Berani Mati, in an interview with Adnkronos International (AKI).

Members of the PBM are currently gathering in East Java.

Established in 1998, the hardline FPI is known for attacking bars and clubs during the Muslim fasting month of Ramadan.

On 1 June, the FPI was accused of having attacked a group that was rallying in support in of religious tolerance.

Some of its members were arrested, but many, including Junaidi, have called for the FPI to be banned.

Junaidi said that "the militia is made up of diverse groups of about 300 men each and all of them will be trained in such a way as to deal with the worse possible situations whether physically or mentally."

The militants are members of groups associated with the Nahdlatul Ulama (NU), Indonesia's largest moderate Muslim organisation and the National Awakening Party (PKB), the party which represents the organisation.

The militants are gathering in the district of Jember in East Java, together with martial arts instructors and experts in the use of machetes and batons.

"We do not want to use violence, but if the FPI uses violence and the government does not act, then we are forced to do the same," said Junaidi.

For the past 18 months Hulu’s Jakarta Baptist Christian Church in Pisangan village, Sepatan district has wrestled for the right to hold church services in the village. Church members will soon take the matter to court in hopes of finding a permanent solution to the dispute. Yesterday’s confrontation by the Muslim extremist FPI was the latest in a series of threats. Last week as the congregation held a simple meeting in a church member’s home – sharing a meal and singing a few hymns – FPI members arrived and repeated threats first issued in November to raid the homes of church members if meetings continued.
